CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR 2008-2009
FRIENDS OF GOODALE PARK CALENDAR
The Friends of Goodale Park announces a juried competition to select images for
the 2008-2009 Friends of Goodale Park calendar. Open to amateurs, students and
professional artists alike, the competition is intended to select approximately
15 to 20 images that will be used in the 15-month calendar to be published by
the Friends.
Images must reflect scenes in
Goodale
Park
; they may be photographs, oil, charcoal, watercolors or any other
medium that lends itself well to publication in calendar format. A jury of
local artists will select the winning images. Artists/photographers will
receive no remuneration other than the publication of their work in the
calendar. Artists are encouraged to donate an original or signed copy of their
work to the Friends of Goodale Park for the Silent Auction at the Annual Gala
in December.
All submissions must be made
electronically via low-resolution jpg. If selected for the calendar, higher
quality electronic images will be required. Images may be color or black and
white. Seasonally appropriate images are desirable, but not required. Images
must not be offensive to the general public.
The calendar, which will extend from
September 2008 to December 2009, will be available at Gallery Hop, by mail or
through retailers in the Victorian Village/Short North neighborhood. Calendars
will go on sale for the first time at the Victorian Village Society Home Tour
on Sunday, September 15, 2008. Proceeds from calendar sales will be used to
restore, maintain, and improve Goodale Park.
